The visitors moved in front on 12 minutes when Kevin Keegan delivered a rasping 25-yard drive into the top corner although 'keeper Alex Spackman did get a touch to the ball.

The Whites came within a whisker of levelling seven minutes later, however, when Neal Gawley saw his thumping effort crash back off the left hand upright.

After the break Chris Kingsberry almost levelled for Paul Kirk's side only to see his free-kick sail just over while, at the other end, Tony Anderson, Richard Clarke and Paul Prigent all had decent attempts at extending Newry's advantage.

But just as Newry thought they'd be heading back to the border with their first win of the campaign up popped Browne with that last minute equaliser.
