Linfield 3-0 Newry City
Carling Premiership - Saturday, 29th August, 2009
LINFIELD moved into the top three of the Carling Premiership with this defeat of Newry City at Windsor Park.

Michael Carvill opened the scoring nine minutes before half-time when he combined with Mark McAllister to knock the ball past Andy Coleman from six yards out.

Jamie Tomelty doubled their advantage on 48 minutes with a back post header from a Robbie Garrett cross.

And Carvill added a third with 20 minutes remaining when he finished off a move which saw McAllister and Tomelty combine to supply Garrett who, in turn, created the opening for the Northern Ireland Under-21 international.
