Portadown 6-1 Lisburn Distillery
Carling Premiership - Friday, 28th August, 2009
PORTADOWN finally secured their first win of the season and heaped further misery upon fellow strugglers Lisburn Distillery with this 6-1 thumping at Shamrock Park.

Neil Teggart got the ball rolling after eight minutes when he scrambled the ball over the line after a Kevin Braniff cross caused some confusion in the Whites defence.

Braniff made it 2-0 seven minutes from the break with a flick from a Ryan McCluskey knock-on before, ten minutes into the second half, Alan Teggart crossed from Wesley Boyle to fire past Paul Murphy from inside the area.

Glenn Ferguson pulled one back for the visitors on 57 minutes when he directed a Chris Kingsberry shot towards goal moments after he had headed a Neal Gawley ball against the crossbar.

But the Ports hit with a further three goals in the closing minutes.

With 82 minutes gone Stuart Thompson headed past his own 'keeper whilst under pressure from Gary McCutcheon while, in the final minute, McCutcheon was picked out by Braniff to send an angled drive home.

There was still time for David McCullough to complete the rout with an effort from outside the area which beat Murphy in off an upright.
