Newry City 3-1 Institute
Carling Premiership - Saturday, 15th August, 2009
CHRIS Morgan was the hero of the hour with a hat-trick inside 60 minutes to power Newry City to their first victory of the season.

He opened the scoring on 20 minutes when he rammed the ball home from 10 yards after a Stephen Garrett effort was charged down.

And he doubled their advantage just two minutes later. Garrett supplied the ball from the right following a commanding run with Morgan handily placed to fire into the roof of the net from six yards.

Morgan put the game beyond doubt a minute short of the hour mark with his third of the afternoon, a finish from three yards after a David Munster drive took a wicked deflection to wrong foot 'keeper Gavin Cullen.

The visitors did pull one back with nine minutes to play through substitute David Ogilby who headed home through a crowd of players from around 12 yards after meeting a Jason Blackburn corner.
