Lisburn Distillery 1-0 Tobermore United
JJB Sports Irish Cup - Saturday, 14th February, 2009
LISBURN Distillery progressed to the last eight of the JJB Sports Irish Cup with this comfortable defeat - despite the scoreline - of Tobermore United at Ballyskeagh.

The Whites almost broke the deadlock as early as the opening minute when Mark Cooling had a header cleared off the line.

But they did move in front on 28 minutes through Curtis Allen who fired a left-foot effort past Matthew McGraw from 12 yards after meeting a Stuart Thompson cross while, soon after, Gary Browne sent the ball against the crossbar.

It was almost 2-0 on 49 minutes when Gary Muir sent a strong effort against the post.

Tobermore came close to levelling, though, when Stephen Lamont had an effort well saved while Trevor Hutchinson forced Philip Matthews to get down to keep his effort out.

Muir struck the woodwork again later in the game with another shot that skimmed an upright but, in the end, Allen's first half strike sufficient to see the Whites through.
