What proved to be the match winner arrived after half-an-hour when Curtis Allen knocked home header at the far post after 'keeper Chris Keenan had failed to cut out a Gary Browne corner.

A couple of minutes earlier Stephen McBride prevented Browne from opening the scoring when he made a last ditch clearance to stop a lob over 'keeper Chris Keenan trickling over the line.

At the other end McBride had penalty claims waved away by referee Dessie Loughery while, after the break, Allen had another goalbound effort blocked by Crues defender David Magowan.
