Institute 2-0 Dungannon Swifts
Carling Premiership - Tuesday, 9th February, 2010
INSTITUTE opened up a ten point between themselves and the bottom spot with this two-goal defeat of top six hopefuls Dungannon Swifts.

David Ogilby opened the scoring for 'Stute after just eight minutes when he smashed a Sean Friars corner past Alvin Rouse.

They doubled their lead seven minutes from the interval thanks to breakdown in communication between Rouse and Adam McMinn which resulted in the defender sending a backwards header into his own net.

Chris Morgan almost pulled a goal back for the Swifts on the stroke of half-time when he forced a save from Gavin Cullen from ten yards out after finding a bit of space in the penalty area.

And the Swifts threatened again around the hour mark courtesy of a Shane Coney header from a Ryan McIlmoyle corner only for defender Thomas Wray to clear the ball off the line.

But 'Stute might have extended their advantage moving into the final quarter-of-an-hour when Joe McCready found himself clear from a Graham Crown pass but Rouse did well to save at his feet.
