Glenavon 3-3 Ballymena United
JJB Sports Irish Cup - Saturday, 6th March, 2010
GLENAVON fought back from two goals down to earn a second bite of the Irish Cup cherry at The Showgrounds on Tuesday night.

After Kevin Kelbie had twice come close to opening the scoring it was Glenavon who grabbed the early advantage on 14 minutes when, following a Chris Ramsey foul on James Costello, Trevor Molloy confidently slotted home from the spot.

But the visitors got back on level terms three minutes before the break with the second penalty of the game which Kelbie converted after Jay Magee was adjudged to have handled in the area.

And they moved in front on 63 minutes when Kelbie set up Michael Smith to drive home a stunning shot before, ten minutes later, he knocked the ball back for namesake and team-mate Andy to further United's advantage.

The Glenavon fightback got underway within two minutes, though, when Molloy hammered home a James Costello delivery for his second of the game.

Then, with just five minutes left, Costello himself got on the scoresheet to earn Glenavon a replay when he beat Dwayne Nelson with a long range drive.
